Schools are Back In

by jolenemac78 September 9, 2015 No Comments

LafayetteHightSchoolBOver the last couple of weeks our kids have gone back to school and we have already had one holiday. We hope everyone had a nice and safe Labor Day. With summer ending and fall beginning there will be more school sporting events and we would like to start writing about our local schools sports teams as well as any amateur sports leagues. If we haven’t listed your teams upcoming games yet on our Community Calendar page please CONTACT US with the information and we will add them. We would also like to include local businesses and churches events on the Community Calendar. We will be posting some of these events on all of our Social Media pages such as:

Town of Mayo and Lafayette County Facebook Page

@TownOfMayoFl Twitter Page

Lafayette County Florida Google Plus Page

If you have a few minutes we hope you will click on each of these and “Like” us on Facebook, “Follow” us on Twitter and “Be a Follower” on our Google Plus Page. The Facebook page is doing very well and will soon have 500 Likes! Our Twitter page is going a little bit slow as is our Google Plus page but with your help we hope to have them rocking right along very soon. Our website and social media accounts will only be as informative and useful as the information, pictures and videos that we share with each other.

We are still looking for Student Interns to help us post more informative articles as well as keep our pages updated with correct information. So if you are in the 10th, 11th or 12th Grade and would like to get some experience as a local reporter please read through the information on our Student Intern and Guest Blogger Page for more information. The requirements are fairly simple and we could use the help. Of course, your teachers can Contact the Editor using the CONTACT US form for more information and you might even qualify for extra credit. We would be happy to write a Letter of Recommendation for each of our Interns once you have completed at least 6 months of service.

Remember to take a few minutes to browse through our pages, let us know if we need to change, add or delete any information. Local Businesses and Churches are also encouraged to send us pictures and brief descriptions of services being offered, merchandise for sale and Church schedules. If you have a web site featuring information, a business, or whatever that is based somewhere in Lafayette County Florida send us a link and we will add it to our site. We will “Like” your Facebook Page, “Follow” you on Twitter and Google Plus just send us the information.

We look forward to hearing from you! Till next time…..
