Is Mayo Dead Enough Yet

Is Mayo Dead Enough Yet

Is Mayo Dead Enough Yet? This may seem like a ‘tongue-in-check’ question and it may be. But I, and many other people, would truly like to know if the policies and actions of the “influential people” in Lafayette County Florida over the last 10 years have made any progress for the rest of the people and small businesses located within the county.

What kinds of policies would you like to see implemented to gain more customers for your business, no matter what it is you are doing to make money these days? Is there a plan to do something with all those buildings along the very small downtown area or are you waiting for these to get so dilapidated that you just bull-doze them all down and not have a downtown area at all?

You have lost one of the two banks in the county. The restaurants and stores downtown open and close within months and the zoning department doesn’t seem to want to encourage any new businesses of any kind from anyone not born and raised in the county. Your own historical society have been trying to get funding for more than ten years to finish off the museum. I know things in the south move slowly but my goodness, y’all have taking it to art-form level.

These observations are just that. My own observations over the last 10 years that I have been either a visitor or resident in the county and created this website. I originally wanted to promote the town and the county because I had enjoyed my initial visits and thought to help you move into the 21st-century. I have not gotten a lot of help with this. Are you going to make changes or do you prefer just to roll over and play dead for another twenty years?

Enough of that let’s talk about what is happening that is fun for the coming months!

CHECK OUT THEIR ONLINE CALENDAR
I just visited the calendar page for Three Rivers Library System. They have lots of great things happening every week in all of their branches around the area.
