How Did You Make It Through

Being that Lafayette County Florida is probably one of the least wired towns we have I was wondering how everyone was doing after the lockdown? What did you do to make it through? Most of you I know continued to work on your farms and “necessary” jobs while some were scrambling around looking for ways to keep the kids entertained, educated, and out-of-trouble. I noticed on Facebook that the weekly farmer’s market was closed, which is natural, but only one of the vendors posted alternative solutions to getting her products to her customers.

Come on now there are some really smart and inventive people located within the county who can come up with neat ways for them to sell their products to their customers and still keep everyone safe. I didn’t see a lot of advertising from the restaurants for call-in and pick up meals nor any of the other businesses. The government offices could finally get all their forms online for people to download, fill-out, and email back.

Having a smartphone is a great tool for any business anywhere in the country. You can post pictures of the items you have for sale on your Facebook page; you can get orders messaged to you from that same page or from your website. You can then send a text to the customer confirming the order; create a secure link on your website to pay for services they ask for and on, and on, and on. If there is a will there is always a way to get something done. All it takes is a little imagination and helping each other out.

Congrats to Delores Leggett Walker and all of her friends who assisted her in created all those lovely cloth face masks that she gave to first responders in the area. And to the Duckworth Family who continue to post their goodies for sale at their little shop in front of their house. Loved the pecan pie ya’ll! I know there are others I should be mentioned so please give a Shout Out in the Comments below for those I have missed.
