Online Learning and Job Opportunities

by jolenemac78 March 21, 2020 No Comments

Hey everyone, while we are all stuck at home I thought I would pass on some opportunities for learning new things online and job training. I received an email from Savvy Caregiver in Gainesville today and thought I would pass that along for those who might be interested.

Due to the current concern for contagion and health of our students and their persons, we are making virtual classes available for Savvy Caregiver Training. As you are also experiencing, we do not yet know when we will go back to our face-to-face classes. Feel free to share this with those who might benefit from this opportunity.

The class can be accessed online through Zoom or via phone conference. The participant will need a computer/Smart Phone/Tablet to participate. We are still working out the final details on setting these up online. Classes will remain at 2 hours per class per week, for 7 weeks.

If interested, you can choose ONE of the four options. Classes will be offered at 4 different times and days per week.

  • Monday 3/30/2020 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Tuesday 3/31/2020 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Wednesday 4/1/2020 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Thursday 4/2/2020 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

A class supply packet will be mailed upon registration.

Even though our participants will be at home during this class, respite reimbursement will still be available (4 hours each week to help pay for the travel of the person doing the care times $15 = $60 for each week a person participates in the class). The reimbursement is paid at the end of the seven weeks. Tax paperwork is required.

I am attaching the flyer and an FAQ sheet about this opportunity. (NOTE: we don’t have these classes listed on our website yet. Our poor website person is slammed with all the changes the entire agency is having to send her way. At this point, email Savvy or call the Caregiver Support Coach to sign up for a particular class).

Call me directly with any questions. Thank you for spreading the word.
