Memorial Day Weekend and Remembrance. For all the families out there with members in our armed forces or who have served before we hope that you and yours have a wonderful weekend. Take time out to enjoy those freedoms that they fought and died for. Be patient, be kind, be safe and most of all support each other. Remember also that long ago this day was for families to visit the cemetaries of their loved ones who perished in wars and conflicts to clean up their graves, place wreaths and flags and enjoy a sunny day with family and friends.
Beneath a sky of summer’s grace,
With flags unfurled, a solemn space.
Memorial Day, a time to hold,
The stories brave, the hearts of gold.We gather ’round with wreaths of bloom,
To honor those who met their doom.
On distant shores, on fields of strife,
They gave their all, their very life. For freedom’s flame, for liberty’s call,
They answered duty’s strongest thrall.
No rank, no race, their sacrifice,
A nation’s debt, a hallowed price.But memory fades, with time’s swift wing,
Let anthems rise, let voices sing.
Their courage etched in stone and tear,
A legacy we hold so dear. For freedom’s cost is not a phrase,
It’s etched in lives, through countless days.
So let us vow, with heads held high,
To never let their memory die.For in their loss, a light remains,
A fire that burns, a spirit’s strains.
May peace they sought forever bloom,
A promise whispered o’er their tomb.
