School is Back In Watch Out for Buses

Yes, School is back in and we ALL have to watch out for buses and kids walking around not paying attention to traffic. Children just do not pay attention as well as they should and with all the changes that have been happening recently, they may be more inattentive than usual. And, I think, that with all the new requirements for mask-wearing some of them may have trouble keeping a close eye out for cars let alone being able to breathe normally through those things. As an adult wearing those masks sometimes interferes with my ability to see with my glasses getting fogged up. Yes, I too have trouble breathing through them even though it is mostly a psychological thing with me. I do know that air is getting through I just have trouble convincing my head about that sometimes.

Please browse throughout the new Shop where we are offering custom-designed merchandise for and about Mayo, Florida. We will not be creating designs around the high school sports teams. That is for the schools to do. Mostly, we find inspiration in the local residents and things that have happened within the county over the last 100 years or so. You can always send me suggestions on what you would like to see. Use our CONTACT US form and let us know.

If your charitable organization, church, business, or school is having an event (ANY EVENT THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND) in the coming months and you would like for us to put it on the Community Calendar and write up a post about it. Email, use the CONTACT form, or even mail us a flyer. That’s right folks we now have a PO BOX where we can receive letters, postcards, and other items.

As of today, there is only the upcoming Lafayette County High School Golfing Schedule available for the new year. We love posting sporting events for all middle and high school teams. Please let us know when they are posted on the website or even better email or snail mail us a copy. We will get those items updated on the Community Calendar as soon as we can.

Anyway, this little update is just to say, “Good Luck, everyone! During the upcoming New Year.” We want to promote local events, artists, and businesses. Share your upcoming sales events, writer’s events, church events, and anything else the public is invited to.
