Saving a Small Town with Social Media

Saving a Small Town with Social Media

What can small towns in North Florida do to save themselves from extinction? How about using social media? It is not as hard as it sounds. If all the businesses in the county contribute once a month we can do it. Funds for the website are always appreciated but a 20 to 30-second video of you, your store, and what you sell or provide would be great. An email once a month with your current sales events, new products, or even reminding us about your old ones works too. We just need new pictures and a story to go along with it. Creating your own websites for your business is good. Adding one or two social media pages is even better. You need to have a place for your future customers to come and learn more about you and your business. This online place (your website) is not subject to anyone’s approval or whims.

Social media is owned and operated by someone else. You are at the mercy of their robots and can, at any time, be banned. Your content and your contact with your views are suspended for whatever weird reason. However, it is still the best place to grab new customers. A social media post helps get you in front of more people who appreciate you, your business, and what you offer. We do suggest that you keep these accounts professional. Posting pictures of your kids or grandkids doing cute things is probably not the best thing to post here. But you creating something, working on a project, sitting at your desk, etc. helps you reach more people than you think.

Our first online store commercial

Now that we have our very own YouTube Channel we hope that everyone in the county who owns a business, farm, crafting business, etc. will get in touch. We would be happy to schedule a FREE first visit to help you create your own very first video. Once you get the hang of it we will be happy to Like, Share, Comment, and Subscribe to your social media pages. You can, of course, just upload them to our secure servers with a short write-up of what your video is about and we will post it to our channel and do a post on the website. We want to add your business to our Business Directory (FREE OF CHARGE)
