News and Info Request From Our Readers

by jolenemac78 April 26, 2018 No Comments

News and information request from our readers this past 4 weeks or so have been piling up. We have finally gotten around to answering all that we have received except for a couple. One wanted to post information on mental health information which we have already posted once on one of our pages and the other is a recurring problem of people wanting to be interns but they attach an exe file (or Word Doc, Acrobat PDF that doesn’t open) for their resume which is a sure sign of a spammer or they don’t live in the county. If you would like to become a local news reporter for our county and be able to tell everybody about what is happening in your neighborhood, with your community group, sports team or even in your church please use our contact form page and let us know. You have to live inside the county limits, we do not pay for any articles but you will receive credit for the posting and you have to include a picture or two. Any persons in the photo must agree to have their picture on our website.

Daniel I. asked Date of 2018 Pioneer Day

Pioneer Day is always the 2nd Saturday in October every year unless the weather is a factor then it would be canceled for the year. You will have to message the administrators on the Facebook group Lafayette Activities. It is open to the public to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/168669993518973/

They will confirm the date and any vendor fees that are being charged this year and will send you an application.

Name: Fred
Subject: Meetings

I have been looking for dates and times for all of the town meeting and so far haven’t been able to find any. I was wondering if someone could please send me information so that I can start joining in to see what mayo is planning, please and thank you.

The Board of County Commissioners meet every second Monday of every month at 9:00 am and every 4th Monday of the month at 5:30 pm unless it is a holiday then they will post an update on the Clerk of the Courts website along with the upcoming agenda. We have the meetings listed on our Community Calendar page.
