Future Published Writer Charles Croft

by jolenemac78 July 27, 2020 No Comments

Charles Croft is and has been working on his first book about his grandfather who was a Florida Cracker Cowboy. Although he passed away before Charles was born he grew up hearing stories about his grandfather. As a way to honor those before us, we each should record the life histories of our ancestors. There are too many great stories out there that are lost because people pass away without writing them down.

Brief Biography

I am a seventh-generation Floridian. I am a husband, father, grandfather, pastor, dog breeder, dog trainer and if I have any extra time, a writer. I am a retired high school teacher/coast and an avid reader. My wife and I have near the small north Florida town of Mayo.

Interview Questions

What is your favorite childhood book?

My favorite childhood books(s) were “The Black Stallion”.

How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?

I have one book that I have written approximately two-thirds of at this time.

What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

For research, I use Google, the public library, and personal interviews.

Does your family support your career as a writer?

My family supports my writing. In fact, my children continually encourage me to finish my book.

What was your hardest scene to write?

So far, my hardest scene has been one involving a sexual nature. I want this book to be appropriate for all age groups so I struggled to make the scene believable without being too graphic.
