Holidays and Business Promotions

MayoFL05172015 (4)Holidays and Business Promotions for some of our local small businesses. We hope everyone will spend some time in our local businesses during the holiday seasons. Anything from shopping at our local grocery store, eating out in one of the restaurants and buying some trinkets for your loved ones from one of our shops. We would also like our of our friends and family to promote these businesses that have an online presence and/or social media account page that we can “like”, “share”, and “follow” in the coming year. We have noticed that quite a few of the Mayo small businesses have been posting more on their social media pages, updating their websites with a new look and some have even gotten new social media pages and/or websites.

Fall Season Getting You Down

MayoFL05172015 (28)Fall season getting you down? Over the last several months we have all been hoping for a little cooler weather, a cessation of the bugs and time from our many chores to have a little fun. Now if only the weather would cool off enjoy for us to enjoy it. We may be inviting the bad weather by asking for cooler temperatures but we really could use it right about now.

The holidays are coming, people are traveling more, visiting their family and just trying to get out more. So, please be careful out there when you on the road. Hopefully, everyone’s harvests have gone well and the fall crops should be getting ready for picking if they haven’t been already. The kids have been enjoying school, we hope, participating in their chosen sports and learning new things. But we all need a little break every now and then. If you were able to attend the Pioneer Festival last month we hope you have a great time, took lots of pictures and are willing to share your experiences. Drop us a line using our Contact Us form.

If we haven’t listed your teams upcoming games yet on our Community Calendar page please CONTACT US with the information and we will add them. We would also like to include local businesses and churches events on the Community Calendar. We will be posting some of these events on all of our Social Media pages such as:

What Are You Doing New This Year

Downtown MayoWhat are you doing new this year? Well, we have moved our website to a new hosting account which we hope will be faster and more reliable. We are still looking to have a couple of student intern reporters to help out with posting new upcoming events as well as posting reviews of past events. We will be pushing the “For Sale” section of the website more this coming year and hope you will participate in the discussions, sending us information about your business, church and school upcoming events. And finally, we can always use Guest Reporters as well. Guest Reporters can just post one article or as many as they want. We just need about 400 to 1000 words and a couple of pictures to post. We want to feature any local business, local writer, local boy scout group, local girl scout group or charitable events being held in Lafayette County Florida in the coming year.
