Sadly, this year’s Pioneer Day was cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew. Since then the Lafayette Activities Group has created a group page for the vendors who didn’t get a chance to offer their products at this year’s event called the Pioneer Day Market: https://www.facebook.com/groups/676596582500650/ If you were to be a vendor at this year’s event join the group and feature some of the great products you were going to offer. You might want to join the Lafayette Activities Facebook Group page to receive notifications of upcoming events in Lafayette County Florida area.

If you have an upcoming event we hope you will get in touch and let us know. We will list the event on the Community Calendar and if we get enough responses of course we will post another blog article.

Holidays and Business Promotions for some of our local small businesses. We hope everyone will spend some time in our local businesses during the holiday seasons. Anything from shopping at our local grocery store, eating out in one of the restaurants and buying some trinkets for your loved ones from one of our shops. We would also like our of our friends and family to promote these businesses that have an online presence and/or social media account page that we can “like”, “share”, and “follow” in the coming year. We have noticed that quite a few of the Mayo small businesses have been posting more on their social media pages, updating their websites with a new look and some have even gotten new social media pages and/or websites.

Fall season getting you down? Over the last several months we have all been hoping for a little cooler weather, a cessation of the bugs and time from our many chores to have a little fun. Now if only the weather would cool off enjoy for us to enjoy it. We may be inviting the bad weather by asking for cooler temperatures but we really could use it right about now.
The holidays are coming, people are traveling more, visiting their family and just trying to get out more. So, please be careful out there when you on the road. Hopefully, everyone’s harvests have gone well and the fall crops should be getting ready for picking if they haven’t been already. The kids have been enjoying school, we hope, participating in their chosen sports and learning new things. But we all need a little break every now and then. If you were able to attend the Pioneer Festival last month we hope you have a great time, took lots of pictures and are willing to share your experiences. Drop us a line using our Contact Us form.
