The new agenda for Monday’s Board of County Commissioner’s Meeting has been posted to the County Clerk’s website. If you have time on Monday you should drop by the Commissioner’s Meeting Room and check out what your representatives are deciding this month. The board meets twice a month to discuss bills the county has to pay, who gets to rename their roads, hears complaints about county personnel and much more. Kids, since this meeting is during school hours, you can always attend the meeting on the 24th at 5:30pm. It is never too early to see how your local government works!

The Lafayette County Commission will hold a regular meeting on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the County Commissioner’s Meeting Room at the Lafayette County Courthouse in Mayo, Florida. Listed below is an agenda for the meeting.

1. Open the meeting.
2. Invocation and pledge to the flag.
3. Approve the minutes.
4. Requests and comments from the community.
5. Department Heads:
A) Marcus Calhoun – Maintenance.
B) Scott Sadler – Public Works.
C) Bobby Johnson – Building/Zoning.
1) Review the new floodplain ordinance.
2) January Solid Waste/Landfill report; Building Department report.
D) Trevor Hicks – EMS.
E) Jana Hart – Extension Office.
6. Public Hearing – The Board will hold the second public hearing for the 2013-2014 CDBG grant application cycle.
7. Leenette McMillan-Fredriksson – various items.
8. Approve the bills.
9. New Business.
A) Approve contracts with FDOT for resurfacing of various roads.
B) Authorize the deed to FDOT of 1,594 sq. ft. on the SE corner of the Courthouse yard.
C) Appoint a representative to the SREC Board of Directors.
D) Adopt a resolution recognizing the 125th anniversary of Florida Public Health.
10. Adjourn.
